About Us

The Pat Miller School of Dance has a proud history which dates back to 1953 in Box Hill, Doncaster and Templestowe. Today the school offers a structured training program in Classical Ballet, Jazz and Tap, for all age groups from Tiny Tots through to teaching Diplomas certified by the Teachers of the Australian Academy of Dance (TAAD). Our much loved Principal, Pat Miller, still maintains the high standards of the school.

Miss Miller has 60 years of experience in the dance world, beginning her career as a student with Miss Lilly Allinson and studied all forms of dance with the Royal Academy of Dance, the Commonwealth Society and Cecchetti. She is the founder of the TAAD and has worked extensively as a competition adjudicator and examiner.

Our school is very family orientated with Miss Miller's two daughters Miss Dianne and Miss Carly both qualified teachers and examiners. Miss Carly also offers a wealth of knowledge and experience from her career as a professional dancer. Miss Millers Granddaughters are now following in these footsteps.

Classes at now in Doncaster are taught by professional dancers and certified teachers. Our teachers make a fantastic and caring team, and work together to achieve the best outcomes for students. Current teachers are Miss Jeanine, Miss Kayla & Miss Alana, as well as special guest teachers throughout the year.

In addition to the joy of music and dance that many have experienced with us, many of our students have gone on to professional theatrical careers, including headline musicals in Australia, while others run dance schools of their own, with full TAAD certification.

Most important of our values is to encourage all students to enjoy their classes, to improve their confidence and achieve their personal best.
